Founded by Mike Caroll and Rick Howard in 1993 in Torrance California, the company came as a result of Mike and Rick leaving previous board sponsor Plan B taking a load of talent with them. This caused a serious stir in the skateboarding industry, and after teaming up with Megan Baltimore and Spike Jonze the company didn't just have great skateboarders, but a solid art direction and great video output including movie style films and funny skits. The Girl logo has stayed a staple in their graphics be it clothing, decks or accessories and collaborations with brands such as Kodak and Sub Pop reflects the brand's ethos.
