The Quiet Life was founded in 1997 by Andy Mueller and some of his friends from OhioGirl. Having grown up in the Midwest on a diet of skateboarding, BMX, music and magazines, Andy became enthralled with image making and photo taking from a young age. In 1993 he founded OhioGirl Design, a small photo, film and design studio.
As well as running The Quiet Life, Andy works full time at Girl Skateboards as a member of the Art Dump. His main duties at Girl entails running art direction at Lakai Limited Footwear, as well as designing skateboard graphics for Girl Skateboards and Chocolate Skateboards, he shot photos for Fourstar, Ruby and other brands within the Girl umbrella. He also continues to do freelance design, photograph and other projects as OhioGirl, and co-runs a small 'indie' record label called OhioGold.
The Quiet Life produces a range of tasteful clothing, including jackets, pullovers, joggers, button shirts, beach pants, polo shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, t-shirts, hats, and accessories. They regularly partner with artists and illustrators for capsule collections - recently they've worked with the likes of Eric Kenney, Ben Venom, Lonesome Rose, and James Jarvis.
