Risers

Riser pads were standard on all skateboards back in the 1980s. Risers provided larger wheels with more turning space so you don't get wheel bite. (The wheel hitting the board) Coming in various thickness from ⅛" through to 1" from brands like Shorty's Dooks and Mini Logo they are made from softer rubber to better absorb shock and also harder plastic giving a firmer ride. Only really used today on wheels bigger than 58mm.
