Vans and Geoff Rowley present the Rowley RapidWeld Pro skateboarding shoe, released to mark the 20th anniversary of the original Rowley Pro release. This latest model brings with it technical advances without straying from the aesthetic of the original model.
Geoff Rowley may have been a pro-skateboarder for over 20 years but he’s still handling spots few others would step to - as evidenced by his recent video part ‘Take It Back’. Vans have designed this shoe which can stand up to the levels of abuse Geoff dishes out.
The Vans Rowley RapidWeld Pro uses the WaffleCup outsole, this gives skateboarders the board-feel of vulcanised shoes as well as added support throughout the mid-foot and heel. The shoe, fairly obviously, uses Vans RapidWeld technology - meaning it has a stitches construction which not only improves durability, but gives a better fit and feel.
RapidWeld gets rid of any unnecessary bulk with its upper-panel welding, a thin heat fused film between the panels removes the need for conventional stitching. The bond that is formed by this film is incredibly durable, more flexible and lighter than traditional stitching. The tongue has also been slimmed down, and the ankle padding tweaked, to reduce any unwanted bulk.
Comfort, support and impact protection are provided by Vans UltraCush HD Sockliner, which gives Van’s highest level of protection without deteriorating over time. Durability is further enhanced by the rubber underlays which are strategically placed in high-wear areas.
The Vans Rowley RapidWeld Pro skateboarding shoes are another in excellent release from Vans, following the success of the AVE Pro and the Berle Pro - as well as the tasteful Vans Sour Solution collaboration.
