adidas Skateboarding and Na-Kel Smith have collaborated once again and reworked the Rivalry Hi OG shoe - the classic basketball silhouette from the 1980s has been re-imagined and updated for skateboarding. Na-Kel collaborates with adidas probably more than any other of their professional riders, in recent years contributing the Nizza Hi, Nizza Lo, 3ST.003 and several Matchcourt models.
Na-Kel’s reworking of the silhouette sees it make use of features more suited to skateboarding - the shoe’s upper is structured with a combination of suede and synthetic to give the shoe the reliable durability that skateboarders have come to expect. There are die-cut insole which ensure that the foot is kept comfortable, whilst the sticky rubber outsoles provide enhanced on board grip.
When it comes to colours, the upper features a two-toned palette of yellow and green which stand out against the black upper. The yellow is used for the laces and accents the three stripes on the side panel, whilst the green features on the ankle panels. The tongue insignias have been remixed, now saying ‘Na-Kel’ where the basketball logo historically would have been.
The adidas Rivalry Hi OG x Na-Kel is released globally on 18th January and will be available on Parade via our partner stores.
