Following up on the recently launched Matchbreak Super is a special Shin Sanbongi colourway from adidas Skateboarding. The new silhouette has all the hallmarks of a classic adidas skateboard shoe. Throw in the design direction from Shin himself and you have a contender for colourway of the year already.

To announce the collaboration Shin filmed a part with fellow adidas team riders, Dennis Busenitz, Silas Baxter Neal, Neils Bennet and Filip Almqvist. Shot in locations from Detroit to downtown Taipei the part covers some insane terrain.

Photographer Zander Taketomo was present for the entire shoot, which precisely was filmed in the cities of Los Angeles, Taipei, New York, Philadelphia, Albany, Paris and Detroit. Scroll down for a behind the scenes look at the shoot, it offers insight into how much time, work, effort (and fun!) goes into producing a skate clip.

adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 1 "Even when far from Chigasaki, Shin will find some waves. Paris, France."
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 2 "Paris, France"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 3 "Shin in a great kit for shooting Kodak Tri-x film!"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 4 "Niels, Shin, Gustav & Nikka. Gustav had just filmed his line where the fisheye transitions in Reverb"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 5 "Dipped. Cretéil, France"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 6 "Paris is one of the few cities where it feels normal to bring cheese to the skate spot!"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 7 "The crew was deep this day in Paris."
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 8 "This Frenchman passing by worked out great for the half-frame camera"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 9 "We travelled a lot for this part; LA, Taipei, NYC, Philly, Albany, Paris and this was in Detroit. Detroit feels more like a run-down sightseeing quest than any other typical tourist destination"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 10 "Abandoned Detroit"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 11 "Since in Detroit, we had to see 8 Mile!"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 12 "You can imagine what we played in the car whilst here. Especially by Filip!"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 13 "This was on our way back towards downtown, it must have been one of the longest trains I've ever seen. It must have taken almost thirty minutes to pass by"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 14 "This church was epic and the backdrop of Filip's line"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 15 "Artists at work, Chris Mulhern and Shin"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 16 "Filip, Shin and Detroit extraordinair, Justin Bohl"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 17 "Dan Mancina, keeping everybody hyped whilst in Detroit"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 18 "Shin with a wallie at The Wig, a few weeks before it's demolition"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 19 "This is really a special spot outside of Taipei, so special that we took a three, hour-long trips of getting kicked out just to skate it. We initially came for the 5-0 to flat and then right after, Shin came through with the ollie-up to back tail, all within a few tries"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 20 "We learned that Shin has some football tricks up his sleeve"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 21 "And Filip has been playing far too much FIFA 20"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 22 "This trick actually went down. Shin was carving it like a wave and was rolling out right on the edge of the grass, like a child dodging fake lava"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 23 "Back lip at a rainy day spot under a freeway in Taipei. It was impossible to stay clean here"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 24 "Filip found an ancient board duster!"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 25 "This was on the last trip for the part, Shin was repping his colorway for the Matchbreak Supers"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 26 "Shin would be stoked if you happen to purchase some of his colorway shoes!"
adidas Matchbreak Super Shin 27 "Proper form on the hardest to skate spot"

The Shin Sanbongi colourway is available now. Including a unique seamless interior with Adi-Zone liner, a rubber Adituff toe box, and a moulded adiPRENE sockliner. Fitting like a sock, it offers improved comfort and control. Externally the higher foxing tape to the Vulc wrap brings more abrasion resistance, gives a low profile look and, importantly, provides deeper foot placement, giving more connection to your skateboard.

In other 2020 releases, adidas and Fucking Awesome pro Na-kel Smith teamed up for the adidas Rivalry Hi OG.
