Parade is stoked to welcome Pretend Supply Co. to our expanding community of skate stores, allowing you to shop the best skate shops and brands in one spot.
Ian Budd created Pretend Supply Co. to represent his perfect vision of the skate shop he'd always wanted to own. Having managed the iconic SS20 in Oxford for twenty years, a service that provided not only huge amounts of skate shop experience but also an immersive deep dive into UK skateboarding given the depths of Oxfords skate history.
“Tom Penny came to visit not long after we opened which was great, we've known each other since we were kids so it was rad to catch up!”
Having known each other since they were kids, Oxfords finest skate export Tom Penny visited Pretend in the early days to say hi and wish Budd well upon opening. Since 2015 Budd crafted Pretend around his desire for a boutique style of store, stocking favoured brands and building a lasting service with customers. Whether this is online or through the door, the standard is always high.
Pretend Supply Co. is located in Witney, twelve miles out of Oxford and given this is Oxfordshire we are talking about, it is of course a historic market town. Just look left after you step out of Pretend and you’ll be greeted with the most English of village greens. Stocking a curated selection of the finest brands, you’ll find a healthy collection of Brixton, Dickies, adidas Skateboarding and Deus Ex Machina.
Budd’s aim is to continue his recent tradition of sourcing the best brands and the most exciting product that serves both his local and digital customers. Through this curation Pretend is ensuring it’s future, all whilst maintaining the important aspects that make owning a skate shop such a rad endeavour.
