In this latest collaboration, Amsterdam based Pop Trading Co take inspiration from the days of Hi-8, DIY ramps, their local Vondelpark and having to wait months for the latest 411VM to drop. In honour of this glorious period, and to launch the new Pop Trading Company Vans shoe collection, the Pop boys hosted something special.

Banning live social media documentation, placing stickers ‘Berghain style’ over the cameras of spectators phones, they held a skate contest celebrating this 90s period of skateboarding.

‘The concept of this event is referring back to simpler times, where phones were not our first priority.'

The collection is three iconic Vans shoes, which all played a part in creating some of the magic during this era. The collection brings together the classic Old Skool (style 76), the much loved Chukka boot and the defining Salman Agah. Each shoe is given a different material treatment, beige suede/canvas on the Old Skool, navy cord on the Chukka and a burgundy hairy suede on the Salman.

In a true representation of this period they even made VHS copies of the contest. Look for one at your local skate shop.
