Palace Skateboards

Palace Skateboards was created in London, England back in 2009 by Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis. Palace took its name after the London flat where Lev and his mates lived. As somewhere cheap and central to live (just a quick skate to Southbank), the place wasn't your plush "palace" and it quickly became a joke amongst Lev and his mates, who went by the crew name of PWBC. From these humble beginnings, Lev Tanju had a vision for a new style of a skateboard company, one without restraints or care for what a normal skateboard company should do.

Daring to be different, simply by being true to themselves, and by utilising the British attitude of taking the piss, calling things out and generally messing about - just like skaters do. This deft touch proved a breath of fresh air, delivering a unique style that has given Palace many successful years. Their unique sense of marketing and graphical style, such as their videos like Palasonic has seen the ultimate form of flattery: copied by more mainstream brands across the world.

Recent Palace campaigns have been photographed by Alasdair McLellan and Juergen Teller. Alongside, the Palace boys have partnered with adidas, Tate Gallery, Reebok, Kickers and of late - Polo Ralph Lauren - to take Palace Skateboards to the next level, with campaigns across billboards and stores from New York to Tokyo. And all executed in that unique Palace tone.

Palace now operates flagship stores in London, New York City, Los Angeles and Tokyo. It's skate team features Lucien Clarke, Danny Brady, Benny Fairfax, Chewy Cannon, Olly Todd, Shawn Powers, Charlie Young, Jamal Smith, Lucas Puig, Heitor da Silva and Kyle Wilson.
