    • Mark Gonzales, Tunnel Ride, Monchengladbach, Germany. 1998.

Mark Gonzales was part of a joint art show with the German artist Johannes Wohnseifer at the Stadtisches Museum in Monchengladbach, Germany. Skin joined Mark at the gallery as he produced a performance art piece that, to this day, has never been attempted by anyone else. Dressed in a fencing suit with Hawaiian inspired Aloha embroidery and adidas fencing shoes, Skin shot just one roll of Kodak Tmax 3200 B&W film. Managing to capture this timeless moment as Mark playfully cruises, face down, towards the tunnel, Skin created one of the most defining moments of Mark Gonzales's incredible career.

The performance crowns Mark Gonzales as one of the most versatile skateboarders and this scene is immortalised in the Cheryl Dunn film, which was used as a music video for the track 'West Coast' by Coconut Records.
