The Converse CONS Jack Purcell Pro Ox is a low profile skate shoe which makes use of the immediately recognisable silhouette which was originally designed way back in the 1930s by badminton player Jack Purcell. The iconic shoe is now a full fixture of the Converse CONS skateboarding range. The Jack Purcell Pro combines the classic look we're all used to with some updated technology enabling it to provide the durability, comfort and grip that you'd expect from a modern skateboarding shoe. The shoe notably featured as part of the Converse CONS x Polar Skate Co. collaboration in 2017.
The Jack Purcell Pro's upper is fully suede, this means it will be nice and sturdy and able to deal with the abrasion caused by the griptape, the shoe will also maintain its profile well into its lifespan. It makes use of the Nike Zoom drop-in sockliner, this will aid with impact cushioning and generally help the foot to feel secure in the shoe. The 'smile' toe cap is a key feature of this shoe, it gives it its identity as a Jack Purcell first and foremost, but also provides excellent durability and consistency for flip tricks once broken in. The sole is vulcanised which aids with board feel, it features a rubber outsole and the traction rubber sole is grippy and features Jack Purcell branding.
The Converse Jack Purcell Pro Ox is available in a variety of colourways, the most popular being the original black and white colourway which harks back to the original badminton shoe of the 30s. You'll regularly see Converse riders such as Mike Anderson, Brian Delatorre and Zered Bassett repping this model, which should be plenty of encouragement for you to purchase a pair.
